The Canary Islands are located to the west of Africa and just south of Spain. It is also part of Spain. The main islands are La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote.

Major cities within the islands themselves are, Santa Cruz, and the Las Palmas.

The population of the Canary Islands is about 2.2 million. Their official language is Spanish.
The Canary islands have a Democratic government. The President is Paulino Rivero and the vice president is Jose Mingual Perez Garcia.
It has many cliffs and beaches to the highest mountains in Spain.
